History

Apt13books.com was started in 2019 during the pandemic as a small e-commerce bookstore which gave 20% of its profit from every book to non-profit organizations which somehow reached victims of human trafficking in their work.

Unfortunately, eBay and Squarespace changed their shopping cart preferences so that you could no longer segregate the non-taxable portion of the book costs from the taxable portion. With no alternative, the charity portion of the bookstore had to shut down.

Three years later, we moved platforms, restarted our eBay account, and decided to find other ways to be charitable. For now, we just want to provide a space to talk about and trade books, and a way to provide competitive pricing.

Pricing

Prices will vary depending on condition: gently and barely used books to acceptable copies, hardcover, paperback, and mass market paperbacks, as well as first editions and signed editions.

Shipping

U.S. media mail and related costs are noted as “Media Mail – Shipping & Handling”. We reserve the right to negotiate international shipping if necessary. Please reach out if you need further assistance at apartment13retail@gmail.com.
